About us
Helping homeowners reach the right local septic company.
About one in five American homes relies on a septic system instead of city sewer. When something goes wrong, or it is simply time for pumping, finding a trustworthy local company should be easy. That is what SepticTank.com is for.
For homeowners
Search your city, tell us what you need and how to reach you, and an independent septic company that serves your area calls you back. Requesting service is free. The company you work with sets its own prices and schedule.
We are not a septic company and we do not do the work ourselves. In cities with a partner company, every request from that city goes to that one company. Elsewhere, we offer your request to a small number of nearby septic companies, and the first to accept it contacts you.
For septic companies
Each city on SepticTank.com can be owned by one local septic company. The owner receives every homeowner request from our pages for that city, with no per-lead fees, for a flat monthly or yearly price.
See if your city is openWhere our local data comes from
- Soil: USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service Soil Survey, which rates mapped soils for septic absorption fields and drainage.
- Climate: NASA POWER long-term climate records for rainfall and temperature.
- Cities and population: US Census Bureau population estimates and gazetteer files.
Our content standards
- We explain septic care in plain language and point you to your county or state health department for local rules.
- We do not publish made-up prices, laws or company claims.
- Soil and climate data describe the area around a city, never a specific property. A professional site evaluation is the only way to know your yard.
